Movie Review : Dhoom 3

One of the most anticipated film of the year hits the screen with a bang. Dhoom 3 surely is one of the best films of this year.

Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, Dhoom 3 stars Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra and Katrina Kaif.

Dhoom 3 is the same hit and chase drama like its two earlier installments but this time its packed with some great chase and action sequences and some great locations giving it a look of a international film. Adding to it Dhoom 3 also has a story which its two earlier installments lacked. This time the robbery is for a reason.....Yes a personal reason.

Vijay Krishna Acharya's direction is top notch. The film is well paced with some great chase and action scene's. The Entry scene of Aamir is well shot and will surely get applause from the audience.

In acting department, Aamir khan steals the shows. He acts superb and again proves that he is surely Mr.Perfectionist.
Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra do complete justice to their roles. Katrina Kaif doesn't have much part to play but yeah she surely adds some glamour to the film and her performance in her
intro song is really very good. Jackie Shroff in his cameo appearance does a superb job leaving heavy impact with his powerful voice.

Music of the film by Pritam is average. The background score given by Julius Packiam is really good adding more punch to the film.

Cinematography by Sudeep Chattergee is fantastic. It gives the film a international look and gives the audience a never sceen before experience in bollywood. The song Malang is really really shot well and looks fantastic on screen. No doubt its the most costliest bollywood song ever.

Editing by Ritesh Soni is crisp which makes the film look good.

So what do we conclude?

Plus Points :

1) Well paced film.
2) Great chase and action scenes.
3) Fantastic Cinematography.
4) Superb acting by Aamir Khan.
5) Good background score.

Negative Points :

1) Music of the film is average. Songs really don't create impact on the audience though the song Malang looks great on screen.

So Dhoom 3 is a film which has hight octane action and some wonderfully shot chase scenes , great locations and yes Aamir Khans acting which acts like icing on the cake.

Overall, Dhoom 3 is a must watch film. Don't give it a miss.

Movie Review : R...Rajkumar

After the unsuccessful Ramaiya Vastavaiya, Prabhu Deva is back with what he does best. The over the top action, colourful songs, dialogue bazzi and R...Rajkumar is no different.

The plot revolves around Rajkumar (Shahid Kapoor) who works for a drug baron named Shivraj (Sonu Sood). He eliminates his rival Manik Parmar's men, thus proving his loyalty to Shivraj.  But then his eyes clap with Chanda (Sonakshi Sinha) and as he falls in love with her his life and circumstances around him changes.

Masala films are meant to entertain and R...Rajkumar succeeds to entertain.
The first half of the film is well paced with some mixture of humour, over the top action and yes colourful songs which are very important for films of this genre. But its the second half where the pace dips a bit and takes time to get back in momentum but thanks to the last 30 minutes which are quite action packed and entertaining.

Dialogues are the major point of masala films and R...Rajkumar has few moments of dialogue bazzi which will receive claps and whistles from the audience.

Coming to the acting department, Shahid Kapoor as Rajkumar has played his part well. He shows great innocence in humor and equally powerful rough look while competing his rivals. Sonakshi Sinha (Chanda) seems to have got familiar with such roles and plays her part well. Sonu Sood as Shivraj and Ashish Vidyarthi as Manik Parmar are great to watch. Asrani as always is delightful to watch. Mukul Dev again proves that he is a great actor. Late Shri Srihari as Ajit Taaka has little part to play but is outstanding and great to watch.

The music of the film is good. Gandi Baat and Saree ke fall sa are fun to listen and great to watch on screen.

Editing by Ballu Saluja is decent.

Cinematography by Mohana Krishna is good.

So, What do we conclude?

Plus Points :
1) Entertaining first half.
2) Colourful and quite entertaining songs.
3) Few moments of Dialogue bazzi where the audience will clap and whistle.
4) Some good performances by the star cast.

Negative Points :
1) Second half takes time to get back in momentum.
2) Editing not up to the mark.
3) Few action scenes which are over done.

Overall, R...Rajkumar is a typical bollywood masala entertainer which has nothing new to offer but still entertains.

If you are in search of some logical films then films of these genre aren't your cup of tea but if you are a masala film lover then R...Rajkumar deserves a watch once.

Movie Review : Bullet Raja

After successful films like Paan Singh Tomar and Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, Tigmanshu Dhulia comes out with Bullet Raja, a desi action flick.

The plot revolves around Raja Mishra who accidentally gets involved in a shootout. The circumstances then leads to the transformation of Raja Mishra into a deadly gangster. In this journey he is accompanied by Rudra, as they step into the politics and violence of Uttar Pradesh.

Bullet Raja is not an over the top entertainer which actually is a plus point of the film. Tigmanshu shows some really dark sides of politics. He also adds some great dialogues and action which provide some extra punch and weight to the film. The first half of the film is well paced and entertaining but somewhere the pace of the film drips down in the second half. More over, the 20 minutes extra duration of the film could have been reduced making the film look even better.

Another major highlight of the film is some great performances. Saif Ali khan as Raja Mishra and Jimmy Shergill as Rudra are outstanding. Sonakshi Sinha as Mitali is just used as an arm candy and doesn't have much part to play. Vidyut Jamwal in his cameo appearance as inspector acts well and adds extra punch with some of his great action skills. Chunky Pandey as Lallan, Ravi kishan as Yadav, Gulshan Grover as Bajaj, Raj Babbar as Ram Babu act well and have done complete justice to their roles.

Music by Sajid-Wajid turns out to be average.

Editing in the first half is crisp whereas in the second half it could have been better.

So, what do we conclude?

Plus Points :
● The Movie is not an over the top entertainer.
● Well paced and entertaining first half.
● Outstanding performances by the star cast.
● Some great Dialogues.

Negative Points:
● Average Music.
● The films pace drips somewhere in the second half.
● Extra duration of about 20 minutes.

So, if you like watching Desi Action Political Thrillers then Bullet Raja surely deserves a watch once.

Overall, Bullet Raja turns out to be a decent flick which deserves a one time watch.
